Trackfundx is a B2C financial tracking provider that helps customers manage their earnings and expenditures.
Trackfundx, being a relatively new company, was conceived from two friends' struggles with managing their monthly finances and occasional overspending. Their primary aim was to offer a solution where weekly, monthly, or yearly budgets can be set, and reminders can be established.
What problem did we face?
Many people often overspend and live paycheck-to-paycheck. This can be frustrating, especially if you have friends and family that depend on you financially. It's even more challenging when you exhaust your salary before the month ends.
Goal
Provide a solution that can help users better plan their earnings and track budgets with ease.
Challenge
We often find it challenging to manage and keep track of our finances, a prevalent issue in today's society. However, Trackfundx is here to assist with that.
How can we develop a solution that enables users to periodically track their finances?
Defined features
Creating an intuitive mobile app
My goal is to create a user-friendly mobile app designed to manage finances on the go, eliminating the need for office visits. This app will enable users to set budgets, spending limits, establish payment reminders, and sync bank accounts.
Sync all your bank accounts
Imagine having 10 bank accounts from different service providers and wanting to know your total balance without checking each one. With just a few clicks, you can sync all your banks with Trackfundx.
Set your budgets
The end of the month is fast approaching, and salaries will soon be paid. To avoid spending without a plan, consider setting your budget for the next month.
After testing
Previously, we displayed only one "most expensed category". However, after testing, it became clear that users wanted to see more than one category. This would help them monitor their expenses throughout the entire budget cycle.
Outcomes
Following the launch, we gained over 1K+ download in the first month and was still in the process of marketing before I left the project for a new adventure.
Key learnings
Domain knowledge is important as a designer: during the project, I had difficulty understanding the inner workings of our third-party service, which linked multiple bank accounts to our app. Initially, I attempted to resolve the issue independently, but faced challenges. Consequently, I reached out to them for assistance with my queries, as I was particularly keen to understand at what point the user is redirected back to the Trackfundx app.
Always share, there’s nothing like oversharing: I received commendation for this project I completed for a client. I was praised for consistently asking questions, challenging decisions, and demonstrating steady progress throughout the project.
